In the digital age, great photos can do a lot to convey products and brand on your website and social media. With only a smartphone and a few handy online tools, you can capture your own impressive photos for promoting your business.

This peer learning session will be led by professional Perthshire-based photographer Cat Burton, who will cover some useful tips on taking and editing great photos, including:

* Composition

* Lighting & Focus

* Getting the viewer to look at images in the way you want (tips to avoid distracting elements and draw the eye)

* Recommendations for editing tools

* How to edit your images so they are eye catching

* A quick overview of copyright and image use

* Tips for online resources to find more help with photo capture and editing

* Time for Q&A / Feedback on your existing images (please bring along examples on your phone/laptop). Cat will be able to help you get to know your own camera better        too, whether it's a DSLR or a mobile phone.

  

ABOUT CAT

Cat Burton is a fine art photographer and tutor based in Scone near Perth. Her work primarily focuses around nature and the Scottish landscape. A fan of all things dark and eerie, her work is influenced by myth, folklore and gothic fantasy. After travelling the world with her camera, she has now made a permanent home in Scotland. Cat regularly exhibits her work and is often asked to speak at photography clubs. Her work will be on display at the Royal Scottish Academy's Open Exhibition of Art until October and her solo exhibition takes place at Edinburgh's Ocean Terminal throughout the month of September. She will also be opening up her home studio to visitors during Perthshire Open Studios (2nd-10th September).
