Join us for November's Women's Enterprise Network in Strathearn
The network is designed to support women starting, running or growing a business in rural Perthshire or even for those who are thinking about it. It's a free event and will start with a light buffet, followed by an informal chance to meet other like-minded women, meet some of the GrowBiz team and hear from our inspirational speaker.
Our inspirational speaker this month is Doctor Bharti Rajput – or Doctor B as she’s known. Doctor B is a foot expert on a mission to make foot health care wisdom go viral! Her belief is that we as humans have the power to realise our potential when we put our best foot forward.
Bharti was born in Kenya and arrived in the UK as a teenager with a dream to establish a career that involved ‘Seva’ a word she had heard numerous times in childhood. ‘Seva’ in Sanskrit translates to an attitude of service performed to benefit other human beings. This philosophy is now her daily personal compass and it navigates each decision whether it be business or personal.
Shortly after graduating in Podiatric Medicine, Bharti’s quest to further explore the intricacies of human movement brought me to the sunny city of Dundee.
After completing her PhD, in 2011, Doctor B established her flagship clinic Sole Body Soul in Dundee which is home to Scotland’s first design museum, The V&A Dundee.
Podiatry is a very rewarding profession however, there are still some parts of the world where the specialism doesn’t exist and this needs to be changed! Doctor B really feels that a visit to a Podiatrist should be just as essential as a visit to your doctor or dentist!
As a regular contributor to the press & media, Doctor B has been featured in The Mirror, Daily Mail, Saga Magazine & BBC Radio Scotland to name a few.
Doctor B has also been nominated for and won multiple awards for her work and even received an MBE award for services to Podiatry by Her Majesty the Queen.
A light buffet will be served from 6pm, with an opportunity to network informally before we hear from Bharti. There will be plenty of time for discussions and networking - so bring along plenty of business cards!
