GrowBiz XChange network evenings are informal and friendly – and a great opportunity to meet other local businesses and hear from experts in their field. The evening will kick off at 6 pm with a buffet and networking.
At the November GrowBiz Xchange networking meeting, we are delighted to have a panel of experts who will help demystify what Making Tax Digital means for your business.
From next April, businesses above the VAT threshold (£85k) will have to file their returns quarterly online, and this is likely to be the case for most small businesses by April 2020. It’s a good time to review your book-keeping and accounting systems to ensure you can fulfil HMRC requirements in the next tax year.
The panel will include :
Margaret McLaren of Margaret McLaren Consultancy who specialise in helping small businesses with their accounting and tax affairs. She has extensive experience in providing clarity from chaos and dealing with HMRC both on day to day matters and Tax Investigations. She helps and supports businesses and organisations with financial management and training and offers expertise in Quickbooks and setting up complex stock control systems. Margaret has worked in the UK and overseas and was appointed a Global Poverty Ambassador in 2012.
Johann Gorree of JGBC is an experienced retail finance manager whose background includes working in the leisure, travel & tourism industry. JGBC specialises in supporting micro, small and start-up businesses to become more educated about their finances and to find more effective ways of working, in turn, increasing efficiency and profits. JGBC is an award-winning bookkeeping company providing a service tailored to individual client needs and expertise in the latest software providers including Quickbooks, Xero and FreeAgent.
Ros Marshall, Director of Operations at Molke, an award-winning ethical underwear company operating in rural Perthshire. Ros has years of accountancy experience and is familiar with both Sage and Xero, as well as PayPal and how that integrates with accountancy software, including Cloud software..
The presentations will be followed by an opportunity to put your questions to the panel.
