We're delighted to share with you that we have been chosen as one of seven community organisations set to benefit from the latest round of the Royal Bank of Scotland Skills & Opportunities funding.
In total, 61 not-for-profit organisations entered projects that support people in Scottish communities to improve their long-term prospects through financial capability and enterprise opportunities. Of these, 13 organisations were shortlisted and the public then had their say, with over 5,000 votes cast to help decide the winners. GrowBiz would like to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to vote for us. Your vote helped us to secure the funding, and we are extremely grateful to you.
Our aim is to transform the way in which social care is delivered in rural Perth and Kinross, based upon the successful pilot Care and Wellbeing Cooperative, which is currently being run in Highland Perthshire. Funding will allow us to progress the creation of an entrepreneurial approach to social care in rural Perth and Kinross by providing training and specialist support to women and young people, leading to a network of microenterprises providing essential services.
Thom Kenrick, Head of Sustainable Banking Integration & Programmes, RBS said "There are thousands of grassroots community organisations across Scotland doing fantastic work to help disadvantaged communities. By working together with these organisations through the Skills & Opportunities Fund, RBS is able to help more people to improve their money or business skills."
