Introduction to Blogging and Newsletters
This GrowBiz 2 hour workshop will open up the world of blogging, newsletters and e-bulletins. It’s a friendly, informal event. It requires no previous experience of blogging and you don’t need a website or Facebook account to benefit from the session.
If you’ve ever wondered “what is blogging, do I need to blog, what should I write or how do I write it?” this workshop is for you.
Susie Black will start the evening by outlining the benefits of journaling as a business tool and introduce methods of making your content available for your customers. Angela Jeffs will help uncover your writing inspiration and skills so you can communicate confidently with your audience.
By the end of the workshop you’ll know whether blogging is for you and your business and have a clear idea of the steps required to start communicating with your customers.
Bring an open mind (and pen and paper).
Susie is a Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor in Coupar Angus. Her goal is to help my clients find their way to better health. She started blogging because she needed an easy way to tell group classes about useful things like holiday dates. It allowed her to add value to her classes and easily keep in touch with clients. Her weekly newsletter is now an integral part of her business and a huge customer retention tool. Susie is looking forward to sharing her insights with you.
Angela Jeffs has been a freelance editor, consultant editor and development editor since 1973. She raised her family in London and then went to Japan for a month in 1986 and stayed 26 years. There she reinvented herself as an author, journalist and feature writer, with (for example) two columns in The Japan Times, and working as a stringer for the China Morning Post’s Asia Magazine, based in Hong Kong. In 2005 she began developing the programme of therapeutic creative writing, Drawing on the Writer Within, which she continues to offer here. She has been blogging for over a decade, has a new book readying for publication before Christmas, and enjoys helping others write their way to improved confidence, wellbeing, happiness and success.
