Our December meeting combines all our Women's Enterprise networks. These networks are designed to support women starting, running or growing a business in rural Perth & Kinross or even for those who are thinking about it.
Our speaker is Alison Milne, a self-employed consultant, partner in a farming business, director of Crafty Maltsters Ltd and owner of holiday rental accommodation. In her role as a consultant Alison represents the Scottish Tenant Farmers Association on matters relating to agricultural policy, involved in stakeholder groups at both Scottish and UK level.
Prior to setting up her own consultancy business, Alison was employed for 8 years with the National Farmers Union of Scotland in various roles including Commercial and Operations Director, promoting the interests of the national industry. In 2013 Alison left NFUS to become a partner in the family farming business, Alison and her husband are both passionate about the future of family farming in Scotland and have worked in partnership to add value to the farming business through diversification. Crafty Maltsters is a new venture launching in January 2019, selling home produced malted cereals to the craft brewing and distilling industry. In June 2017 Alison was appointed as co-chair of the National Council of Rural Advisors, providing recommendations to Scottish Government on the future of a vibrant, sustainable and profitable rural economy.
