Ahimsaka makes artisan hot sauces and delicious rubs and seasonings using the best of ingredients.

Where in rural Scotland are you based and what do you love about living and working there?

I’m based in Muir of Ord in the Highlands. There are lovely views and walks, and also great local support for local businesses.

When did you set up your rural business, and what inspired you to start it?

The business was born in 2018 because I wanted to showcase artisan hot sauces and help people understand that hot sauce is to complement home cooked food.

What is the biggest challenge you face or have faced running your business in rural Scotland?

Finding a ghost kitchen to use as a commercial kitchen, so I can expand my hot sauce business.

What’s been your biggest achievement so far?

Shipping to Japan and the rest of the world!

What do you feel is special about Scotland's food and drink?

The standard of food and drink here in Scotland is outstanding and cutting edge.
