SEEDs of Success: Ian Buchannan

Ian is one of our SEED programme participants and also a member of Great Perthshire and we wanted to take a moment to highlight what a superb year it has been for him!

2024 started with his ethically-produced, pork-rich and preservative free sausages winning two Great Taste Awards, including a rare two-star accolade.

We at GrowBiz have supported him with a grant to purchase new equipment, streamlining his production process of the sausages. Additionally, he secured a Green Capital Grant from PKC to expand his business sustainably. This will help him take his business to the next level, making his produce more widely available.

It’s a pleasure working with Ian, who possesses a wonderful vision for his future,  we’ve had numerous discussions about plans as part of the SEED programme and look forward to seeing what the future has in store for this Kinross-shire business.

You might have seen Ian at markets in Perth and Kinross — he’s at Perth and Cupar Markets on the 21st of December — if so, be sure to try his award-winning fare! In the summer, you can even catch him offering slow-cooked hog roasts. Rootin’ and Roamin’ is a name to watch for.

Ian is a member of Great Perthshire, the regional food network for Perth & Kinross, and collaborates with fellow member Alan’s Chilli Products.
