Introductions? A way to begin a compelling conversation

Imagine the scene, you are about to start networking again at an event and the first question you are asked by somebody is “Tell me, what do you do?” It’s possibly been a while since you had to do a proper introduction to yourself and to you business. What do you say?

In this learning session you’ll get a chance to practise what it is that you say. We’ll cover:

  • the key points you need to convey to ensure understanding

  • some good illustrative examples

  • the different styles you might adopt if you are introducing yourself at an online or in person networking event

  • what you say for a listing in a directory, either a printed or online version

  • some time to allow you to start to work on yours

During this session you will have the chance to have a go at drafting what you might say with the opportunity to try it out for real in breakout rooms. That way you’ll get some supportive feedback to help you craft and develop what it is that you say.
