Perthshire Artisans is reminding consumers not to forget independent online retailers as they ‘shop local’ on Small Business Saturday UK, which this year falls on Saturday 2 December.

Designed for women starting or running a business—or for those who are just thinking about it—this event is an informal opportunity to connect with fellow business owners in a relaxed environment, to reflect on 2023 and to share ideas and plans for the future.

With National Mentoring Day on the 27th of October, enterprise support organisation GrowBiz is asking those in the rural business community to consider whether they can give something back by volunteering as a mentor.

As a way to showcase and promote the vibrant creativity of Perth & Kinross to both visitors and locals, Visit Scotland Perth iCentre has given Perthshire Artisans the opportunity to showcase members’ products in their High Street window.

Perthshire Artisans is a curated platform of diverse creative businesses from across the region, launched by enterprise support organisation GrowBiz in 2020. It will be showcasing four different displays from October to December 2023.

GrowBiz, Scotland’s rural enterprise organisation, has helped provide a boost to the wellbeing of Perthshire business owners with a series of specialised mental health workshops delivered over the past twelve months. Five WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) workshops have taken place in community venues across a number of the region’s rural locations.

With National Mentoring Day happening next month, it’s a good time to consider whether you can contribute to the Perth & Kinross rural business community by volunteering as a GrowBiz mentor. Mentoring is a positive way to share experience you’ve gained, develop your communication skills, gain confidence in guiding others, build a network of rewarding relationships and give back by helping someone unlock their full potential.
